Do you think whether socioeconomic class has to do with the preoccupation of these young artists to focus mainly on identity and representation? If they were of working class I wonder if they would focus more on other issues such as economic inequality. Like you mentioned, public arts are highly curated and driven by the desires of wealthy patrons. If there are artists focusing on other issues we might not be aware of.
